I’ll be honest if I was the girl, I would be agreeing right along side Georgie. Even if he was my ideal husband, sudden pregnancy is NOT the way I want to even consider marriage.

Georgie is lucky she wasn’t pregnant, but his fantasy of him and Jana getting married, if she really was pregnant she could have said “Ok stop saying “baby”. This is not the 1950s, we’re not getting married”. Plus she could tell him he doesn’t have to be involved, and there’s always adoption. Also if Georgie really did get her pregnant, like father like son, I wonder how George Sr would have reacted.
You get her pregnant and you don’t do adoption or get it aborted you both should buck and get married. That’s the responsible thing to do trust me when you will literally end caring for each other while simultaneously hating each others guts but could never imagine life with out them.
Mary was the one who told him about her being pregnant with him being the reason she and George had to get married.

@CORA BEELER I think he was lying AND he’s sorta dumb. As for marriage, Georgie meant the immediate future: getting married right then because she was pregnant. If Jana had an issue with that, she must have felt like she was ready to get married right then.
It was obvious Georgie was lying. On the other hand, why did Jana think she was ready to get married? Teenagers aren’t.
